Wove Privacy Policy

Wove (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an app that helps you manage your wardrobe, calculate the cost-per-wear of each piece, and make more deliberate dressing and buying decisions. We take your privacy seriously and follow a “collect as little as possible” principle. This policy explains what data we process, why, and how.
1. Information We Collect
To make Wove work, we process the following:
- Account information: the email address and display name you provide when signing in with Sign in with Apple or by email. With Sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your real email.
- Your wardrobe data: the clothing details you enter (category, color, style, season, purchase price, purchase date, brand, etc.), wear logs, saved outfits, and the photos you take or select for your items. This data is used to sync across your devices and account, display your closet, and compute cost-per-wear and ROI.
- Subscription status: whether your Wove Pro subscription is active, used to unlock the corresponding features.
- Essential technical information: anonymous technical logs for crash diagnostics and stability (e.g., device model, OS version, error stack traces).
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or advertising identifier (IDFA), and we do not integrate any advertising networks or third-party tracking SDKs.
2. How We Use Information
Your information is used only to: provide and improve our core services (wardrobe management, cost-per-wear, AI tagging and styling, the purchase advisor); sync your data; process subscriptions; and send necessary service notifications. We never sell your personal information.
3. How AI Processes Your Photos and Item Details
Wove’s AI features (smart photo intake, AI styling, and “Ask before you buy”) are powered by a third-party AI provider. When you actively use these AI features:
- The relevant clothing photo or item details are forwarded, through our secure backend, to the third-party AI provider only to process that one request.
- The third-party AI provider does not retain your images and never uses your data to train any AI model.
- Data is used transiently and discarded after the request — never kept longer than needed to serve that request in real time.
- Before you use any AI feature for the first time, the app shows a clear consent prompt. You may also choose not to use AI at all and manage your wardrobe manually.
We do not send identifying information such as your name or email to the AI provider.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your account and wardrobe data are stored in a secure cloud database provided by Supabase, and your clothing photos are stored in a per-user private storage bucket accessible only to you. All data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL). Row-level security (RLS) ensures you can only access your own data.
5. Your Data, Your Control (Retention & Deletion)
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app under “Settings → Account → Delete account” — including your item records, wear history, outfits, ROI data, and stored photos — and revoke your Sign in with Apple authorization. Deletion is a cascading, irreversible removal.
As a Pro user, you can also export all of your item photos and CSV data in one tap and take it with you — we believe your data belongs to you.
6. Third-Party Services We Use
To provide our service, we rely on the following infrastructure providers and pass them only the data necessary for the service:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and photo storage
- RevenueCat — subscription status management
- Third-party AI provider — processes your item photo / details only when you use an AI feature (no retention, no training; see Section 3)
- GlitchTip (self-hosted) — anonymous crash and error diagnostics so we can fix issues
We do not use any advertising or behavioral-tracking analytics services.
7. App Privacy Label (Data Collection Disclosure)
In Wove’s App Store privacy label we declare that we do not collect data for the purposes of tracking you, and we do not share data with advertisers. Clothing photos are passed to an AI provider only to process your AI request in real time and are not retained by it — under Apple’s definition, this transient “process and discard” handling does not constitute “collection.” Your account email and wardrobe data are used solely to provide the service itself.
8. Children’s Privacy
Wove is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you within the app of material changes and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
